Week 5 - Topic 5 (Shift Weight Exercise 1 and 2)

Joe Rig Animation

This is the exercise that I have done using the joe rig model, which is the simple weight shift by moving from one leg to another.

Reflection

This is the first weight shift animation, which is by moving weight from one leg to another. It may look simple but theres a lot of factors to consider on, such as the weight is it on the left feet when start, and the weight should shift itself and move to the right feet. Setting the keyframes must be correct, as well as the different poses to get on one by one to make the animations looks good. Overall I think that it is still quite okay, but of course theres still rooms for improvements to do a better one.

Big Dog Animation

Next is the Bigdog that I have done, similarly it is also another weight shift exercise similar to the first one, but different animation done.

Reflection

This exercise is abit more harder than the previous one, as it requires to move up to four legs and do the weight shfit motion in the process. This one is more interesting I believe, there are some of the videos to show the process of the big dog motion which helps me a lot in animating the Big Dog. The keyframes and key poses must be syncronise to one another, and the weight shift must be shown through the movements of the Big Dog, when he moves his body should go up or down, rotate left or right. OVerall a fun and interesting exercise, got a hang of how it works doing moving animations, bravo!
